Trek 19: Crater of El Altar
Buses from the Terminal Oriental in Riobamba run to Candelaria, Mon-Sat 0630, 1215 and 1700, Sun 0630; get there early, sometimes they leave ahead of schedule, $1, 1½ hrs. Alternatively, take a bus from the same terminal to Penipe, every ½ hr, $0.40, 40 mins, and hire a pick-up truck from there to Candelaria, $15, 40 mins.
