New Tarabita
May 28, 2004

Trek 11: Valley of the Waterfalls

There is a new tarabita (primitive cable car) crossing the Río Pastaza at La Merced, with great views of the Manto de la Novia waterfall. That makes a total of three options for getting back to the Baños-Puyo road at the end of the trek: the pedestrian suspension bridge and tarabita at La Merced, and a second tarabita downstream at San Pedro.
