Trek 12: Cave of the Oilbirds

The Mukucham Family have moved from their home shown on the map (page 138) to the village of Chuwitayo, 2.5 kilometers (1.6 miles) from the bridge over the Río Pastaza along the road to Puyo. They continue to own the land around the cave and are glad to guide visitors.

Cristóbal Mukucham no longer lives in the area, but you can contact his brothers Marcelo or Roberto, instead. As there is no telephone service, you must do so in person. Just ask around in Chuwitayo.
