Public Safety Update
May 18, 2007

Trek 1: Guinea-Pig Lake

The public safety situation around Cuicocha has improved, with no incidents reported recently. Trekkers are regularly walking around the lake without any problems but it is best not to take valuables. If you wish to inquire locally before undertaking this trek, then a reliable source of information is Ernesto Cevillano at the El Mirador Cabins, located above the parking area, phone (08)682-1699, miradordecuicocha@yahoo.com.
